08/02/2014 – Beach Clean-Up in Montgat
On february 8th, Cetàcea organized a beach clean-up, together with the scout group Pare Bertran, in the village of Montgat. The activity consisted of a short talk-game about the different animals that inhabit the Mediterranean sea, focussing on dolphins, whales, sharks and seaturtles. We also talked about how pollution and marine debris can affect these animals. At the end of the talk, the scouts had to answer some questions about the knowledge acquired.
After the talk, the beach clean-up started at a beach located between Montgat and Montgat nord. Considering the small size of the beach, we collected a considerable amount of waste. After the clean-up, we talked about the material collected and how can these objects affect the environment. At the end there was hot chocolate for everyone. Here is a gallery of photos of the day.
At the Associació Cetàcea we think that these activities are very important in order to raise awareness of the importance of keeping clean the environment, above all the youngest generations. If you are interested in our activities, check the link.
