During the next days, the 32nd annual ECS (European Cetacean Society) conference will be held in La Spezia (Italy). In this event there are some of the most relevant people and entities in the study and protection of cetaceans. Each one of them presents the results of their different works through presentations of about 10 minutes or informative posters, accompanied by an open turn of questions.
In this year’s edition, our volunteer María Serrano presented her poster in which she outlined the results of the project “Photo Identification: whales and dolphins of the Catalan coast” from the period 2013-2017. We are very proud that she represents us in this event in which we share space with many research colleagues and people interested in the cetacean world.
The ECS was founded in 1987 with the aim of promoting and improve in scientific studies and conservation efforts of marine mammals. Its task is to compile and publicly spread the results of the work of multiple research teams and study entities; In addition to organizing conference cycles in different countries of the European Union. Currently, the ECS is made up of hundreds of partners from around the world, who are in charge of funding the association.
