24/11/2013 – Beach clean-up
Sunday, November 24, members of Associació Cetàcea took part in the beaches clean-up organised by the Consorci dels Colls i Miralpeix in the framework of the “Clean Up Day“. The activity consisted in the clean-up of a part of the coast in the territorial district of El Garraf, located near the village of Vilanova i la Geltrú. 80 kg of waste and debris were collected.
This activity, included in the European Week for Waste Reduction sponsored by the Catalan Waste Agency, the Barcelona Provincial Council and the Barcelona Metropolitan Area, was conceived to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining the countryside clean.
Associació Cetàcea considers it very important to collaborate in such activities that allow us to keep the coast clean. We also think that these actions help to raise awareness and help us to understand that global problems like this can be solved with everyone’s help.
