17/05/2014 – 2nd Cetacean Sighting and Photo-Identification course
After the succes of the first Cetacean Sighting and Photo-Identification course, Associació Cetàcea presents its second edition, which will be carried out on June 27th, 28th and 29th. The course offers the opportunity to gain a better knowledge of the different cetacean species usually seen in the Mediterranean Sea, and get to know the different scientific research methods used to study these animals. The course is addressed to both general public and undergraduate university students that would like to expand their knowledge in this field.
The second edition of the course is, again, divided in a 12-hour theoretical part, which will be carried out in the Centre d’Estudis del Mar in Sitges, and a 8-hour practical part, which will consist of a cetacean sighting survey, carried out from Vilanova i la Geltru within the framework of the Photo-Identification Project: Whales and Dolphins along the Catalan Coast.
