The Mediterranean Sea has always suffered the effects of human activity. The technological developments of the last few centuries have contributed to making this impact bigger. At the same time, the constant improvement of fishing techniques, has contributed to the degradation of marine habitats and to the worsening of the conservation status of the species that live in those habitats.
During the last few decades there has been an increase in the concern for the preservation of the Mediterranean Sea. In this regard, different projects and ideas focused on the study of the marine species, their habitats and the interaction between them, have been conducted. However there are still many questions lacking an answer.
By developing research studies, Associació Cetàcea aims to help resolve the challenges of the future, and to collaborate to expand our knowledge on the different species that inhabit the Mediterranean Sea and their habitats. Research is a powerful tool in order to develop more effective preservation measures, and making public the results is a really good way to involve the public in the conservation of the marine ecosystems.
Associació Cetàcea suggests a methodical, serious and consistent way of doing research, open to every person or organization willing to collaborate with us.
Desde la Associació Cetàcea proponemos un tipo de investigación, metódica, seria consistente y abierta a toda persona o entidad que quiera colaborar.
